CARRIE QUINN

Carrie has loved working with textiles for as long as she can remember, and quilting runs in her family. She is fortunate to have several quilts made by her grandmothers and great grandmothers, some dating back to the Civil War. This is what inspired her to begin quilting in the early 1990s.

In 2006, she left her office job and opened the Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shop in Fox River Grove, Illinois, with a focus on reproduction quilts and fabrics. She designed quilts inspired by antique quilts, and offered classes and clubs that taught people to make antique style quilts, using modern methods.

After a couple of years, her daughter, Katie Solberg, joined her in the business, and in 2012 the shop was featured in Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler magazine as one of the Top 10 shops in North America. Around that time, Carrie designed her first reproduction print line. She continued to design for various fabric companies over the years, always striving to capture the antique feel of the quilts that she loves.

Currently, Katie is running the shop, but Carrie is still involved, creating shop samples and quilt designs.  She also runs a monthly virtual club called Sarahs Sewing Circle, and shows up at the shop every other week to lend comic relief to the shops Facebook Live Events.

Carrie is thrilled to join the Marcus design team and feels she has finally found her forever home. GENEVIEVE is her debut fabric collection for Marcus Fabrics.
