As one of the three sisters who founded Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine, Jenifer (Jeni) Gaston has enjoyed a lifelong passion for fiber arts.

Jeni began her quilting adventure in 1993, and started teaching wool rug hooking and wool appliqu classes in Ohio and West Virginia quilt shops in 1998, thus launching her career as a designer and quilt shop proprietor.

Jeni and her sister, Gretchen, launched an online wool and rug hooking business in 1999, then opened  The Woolen Willow quilt shop in 2004. Jeni has designed hundreds of original projects, some of which have been published in various quilting magazines.  She is also the author of the book Primitive Style: Folk-art Quilts and Other Finery  (2015, Martingale). She enjoys dying wool and designing quilts, hooked rugs, and other wool projects.

Jeni lives in Williamstown, West Virginia and loves spending time with her husband Glen, grown children Kristen and Kristopher, and her grandchildren.
