It s easy to imagine how a stack of ladies sewing magazines from the turn of the century at a flea market in Paris became the inspiration for the latest collection by Dawn Heese of Linen Closet Designs. Tucked inside one was a large, folded page with embroidery designs. They were dated 1909 and had beautiful writing that included a Paris address and numbers for the different designs. Right away, I imagined what a great fabric that would make. I imagined a lady of the time making her clothes and stitching and the Dressmaker collection was born.
