Deirdre has loved print and pattern from an early age.
She was greatly influenced by her mother, "Bunny," who had a deep appreciation for preserving the past and a keen eye for design. Ultimately, Deirdre studied textile design at Syracuse
University, and has worked in the industry ever since.
She began her career in a hand-painted textile studio in San Francisco and later worked in New York City across various textile industry roles. She founded Phoebe s Closet Ltd., an antique document
company, after the birth of her first child, Phoebe, in 1995. Moving to Vermont in 2017, she returned to designing, inspired by her past experiences and antique textile collection.
Deirdre and her husband are the proud parents of three grown children. She enjoys walking their two rescue dogs, traveling, antiquing, playing tennis, biking, skiing, museums, cooking, and reading, and cherishes visits with friends and family.
Deirdre is very honored and excited to be a part of the Marcus Design team.
