CHRISTINE SCHULTE

Chris Schulte started quilting in 2006, after a generous gift from a friend, who graciously shared an unexpected windfall.  “She thought of me and sent a certified check with a note instructing me to buy the sewing machine I was looking at. This act of kindness pivoted my fun time toward sewing.”

Chris created her first original design in 2009 “by accident”, which developed into her Scrapples pattern.

In 2013, she not only began quilting for clients, but also launched her business, Green Light Quilts.  The unique name came to Chris, well... while driving and brainstorming the name with her children. At a stop light, Chris was lost in thought. But when the light changed to green and a voice from the back seat exclaimed "Just go!" something clicked   Chris wanted to help people "just go" on their quilting journey, to green light their next project or dream quilt. Through her patterns and classes, Green Light Quilts does just that - inspires others to learn, grow, and add a little “scrappy happy” to their lives.

Since 2023, Chris has traded in her professional machine quilting activity for a full-time mix of designing, teaching, speaking and vending.  She continues to employ her Happy and Scrappy method of quilt making, allowing for plenty of "design opportunities” (mistakes).
