PATRICIA SANABRIA-FRIEDERICH

Originally from Costa Rica, Patricia learned to sew in elementary school, with help from her mother and grandmother.

She took her first formal quilt class after moving to Wisconsin in the '90s. In 2013 Patricia wrote her first book, Mosaics Tile Quilts, published by Landauer Publishing. The book features designs inspired from mosaic tile floors found in the historic buildings of Costa Rica.

Patricia enjoys traveling to various quilt guilds present trunk shows and teach workshops. She was fortunate to have her quilts on view at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts.

Patricia loves to mix and combine fabrics and textures and different techniques. She collects fallen leaves from bushes, trees, or any plant that catches her eye, along with many pictures, because she believes composition and balance in nature is neat and even.

Patricia lives in Denver, Iowa with her husband.
