Kristina made her first quilt in 4-H, at the age of 10, and continued to make a few projects with her mom over the years. This early love of fabrics led her to a career as a fashion designer, apparel developer and fit technician.
Throughout her apparel career, Kristina was always drawn to the prints and illustrations. When a former colleague invited her to join a quilt fabric company, taking a design and development position, she “fell absolutely in love” with quilting fabric!
She continued to work in the quilting industry when a new opportunity presented itself. “A quilting retailer who had purchased a lot of my fabrics from the shut-down fabric company reached out to me, asking if
I could design quilt patterns by reverse engineering the components of kits that had no patterns, but I had never really written a pattern. My friend, a
pattern designer, helped me to write the instructions for the designs I came up with.”
Now, Kristina is writing regularly... In the last two years, she’s created and released 13 patterns, with five more scheduled for release by the end of 2025. But fabric is still her first love, so she is
excited to design vintage repros again with Marcus. Visit QuiltVerve.com
