WILDFLOWER RETREAT

I love creating flowers in quilts as I do not enjoy digging in the dirt and growing real ones. I have a huge appreciation to those that do, like my Grandpa Bob. He created visual masterpieces in his garden and his signature flower bloomed in the moonlightdelighting all of the neighbors. The colors are inspired by berries, creating playful florals, polka dots and plaids. As always,for me, more prints = happy, scrappy fun, with a patchy skyand lots of greens, followingMother Natures lead. Florals, coordinates and a cross-stitch alphabet design are paired with nine new Strip-ItT palettes, which simplify the piecing process in a fun, creative way. The cross-stitch design is repeated as a 108 wide backing. In Chris unique version of a block of the month, participants work on a "chunk" of the quilt each month. Each monthly section isntnecessarily a same-size block, giving the concept its name, she explains. The overall design is original and not repetitive. Because each chunk is different, students feel a sense of accomplishment upon completion. p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal{margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom: 1.0pt; margin-left:0cm;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;}
