Sheryl Johnson's new BOM, Curated Cotton Medallion, was inspired by a
vintage medallion quilt from the 1800s, highlighting one of her favorite color palettes.
Medallion quilts were a popular style at the time, a look that was brought to America from Europe. Traditionally, they feature a central motif surrounded by multiple borders. The Curated Cotton Medallion features a Trip Around the World at the center, surrounded by multiple borders of simple pieced blocks.
In
creating the CURATED COTTONS collection, I am also taking inspiration
from one of my favorite color combinations. I love how the reds, blues,
and browns pop with a little pink and cream added in.
Sheryl
brings these colors together in some of her favorite small-scale
prints. The addition of three different Strip-It™ pre-printed stripe
designs (shown below) allows shops to participate in an economical
program, while allowing quilters to stitch up a super scrappy look with
ease, mastering various Strip-It cutting and piecing techniques in the
process!
Join Sheryl in creating what will surely become a treasured family heirloom. This 8-month program begins January 2024.
